Description
Detects when the two-factor authentication (2FA) requirement is disabled for a GitHub organization or enterprise. Removing the requirement downgrades every member in scope to password-only authentication and allows new members to be added without 2FA. Following an account takeover, an adversary may disable the requirement to preserve password-based access, reduce friction for enrolling attacker-controlled accounts, and lower the organization's overall account-takeover resistance, making this a high-impact identity-control change.
Detection logic
Its licence does not clear it for publishing here
Sunturai publishes a detection's own text where the licence it arrived under has been reviewed and permits it, and Elastic License 2.0 has not. The query as its source wrote it, its canonical form and the hash that pins this revision are in the workspace record.
